This is a disaster and goes to confirm that some people are just ignorant. Do you know that there is a body called State INEC in each of the states controlled by the state and not Iwu’s INEC?
Secondly, did anyone check our constitution to confirm the circumstances under which Iwu can be sacked? Is carrying placard on the street one of the ways to sack Iwu?
Let us be serious.
I am looking forward to a discussion of the article and not pontifications about intent, political appointment etc (let us leave blackmail for once and let the ON boys prove to the world for once that they are capable of logical reasoning)
We are all witnesses to the fact that INEC prevented some of the states from conducting the local government election giving updating of voters registers as the main reason. Were the registers not updated during the April 2007 general elections? So why the need for updating immediately after the general elections? Is it not glaring that he was only trying to prevent genuine reflection of people's wish if conducted by the then incumbent state administrations?
On the issue of Iwu's sack, we all know the procedures and people can express there opinion to the nationa assembly. This same approach worked when the people like Anibaba was denying the reality of the OBJ's tenure elongation plan. The public expression helped a lot, otherwise the NASS would have danced to the presidency's tune.
So what reasoning is illogical here?
