| Re: .How to Submit Articles to the NVS TV,
Did you follow the very first instruction which is to email your article to articles@nigeriavillagesquare.com, along with a request to be upgraded?
It is only when this is done that you will be upgraded to Author, and you will be able to submit your article directly via the 'Submit Article' link.

| Re: .How to Submit Articles to the NVS Dear all,
I still don't know where the problem lies in getting up-date to that of an author. Anyway, this is an essay I would want published.
The Odds against Nigerians in Spain.
In matters concerning regularisation of stay in Spain, Spain immigration laws have [B]singled out Nigerians for tougher conditions.
Shorltly, after the 2004 general amnesty for regularisation of stay in Spain [Papel para todos] in fulfillment of campaign promise by Prime minister Zapatero, the government of Spain has in 2006 enacted an immigration law [B][U]specifically for Nigerians. The law requires any Nigerian immigrant willing to legalise his/or her stay, after three years of continous resident in Spain, to get a Nigerian police report which must be endorsed by the Spanish ambassador in Lagos, Nigeria.
The message of this immigration law is clear - in matters concerning Nigerians the Spanish government is unrepentant because of the following evidences ;-
- An applicant has to be physically present at the Spanish embassy in Lagos to get this document endorsed.
-For any person to travel out of Spain in order to get the endorsement from the Spanish ambassador in Lagos, implies that the person has to forfeit his / her right to regularise his stay under the Spanish immigration laws.
You can now see the dilemnma of an average Nigerian immigrant who missed out of the general paper amnesty and is now willing under Spanish immigration laws to regularise his/ or her stay.
The questions now are;
- Where do Nigerians immigrants in Spain go from here, since the only option of travelling to Nigeria for the endorsement at the Spanish embassy in Lagos [B]automatically means the forfeiture of the right to get his / her stay regularised ?
-What could have caused this type of 'special' treatment for Nigerians by a country Nigeria enjoys healthy diplomatic relations with?
Are all of us Nigerians in Spain regarded as criminals with the onus to prove otherwise?
- How do we Nigerians [including legal Nigerian residents in Spain] and our Government can get the Spanish authorities to repudiate this law that is un ambiguosly targeted at Nigerian immigrants in Spain?
I hate to think that Osamuyiwa's death has an indirect link to this obnoxious law because if he has been able to regularise his stay [he spent close to four years in Spain ] he would not have been deported to death under any circumstances.
Please fellow villagers, this is the burden of over 30,000 Nigerians immigrant in Spain who under Spanish immigration laws are qualified to legalise the status as legal immigrants[B] save for this obnoxious condition for Nigerian only[./B]

| Re: .IBORI'S ASSETS WORTH 34M BRITISH POUNDS!!!!! Fellow Countrymen,
good morning! happy independence! ....... this is not a coup statement but cry from a very depressed heart.......... Dariye says the money recovered from him is not what EFCC and London Metropolitan Police declared, it was far in excess i.e. 751 millon Naira (The Sun).
Imagine the amount of tax payable on the above sum that was siezed from and now released to a Nigerian. If that huge sum was genuinely earned why not keep the money in Nigeria, pay tax to Nigeria and let the money generate employment for Nigerians. Meanwhile, there are Nigerians that live below $1 a day. How much does he have in other countries. How much do our other leaders have in the UK and other countries.
Have we looked at the former Eastern bloc, Asia, other African countries and South American countries to find out how much are stored there?
Please can someone that grew up in Warri, went to Uniben and knows the source(s) of this stupendous wealth give us a history how he came by this wealth? What are his businesses in the UK that have generated this wealth? Can any person give details of his wealth in other countries. The wealth of other political leaders and their stories?
We all grew up with these multi billionaires. We know when they could not buy a bottle of beer for themselves, when they could not service their cars etc. This is not bad belle, but a cry to all of us to try and recover our country.
I went to Baptist Primary School, Warri and Holy Family College, Abak in the 70s and remember that when we play football and become thirsty we mostly ran to the nearest public tap to drink water (flowing, without thyphoid, earthworm etc). Today you have people that had those in primary and secondary schools, launching borholes in those same communities and streets that had free flowing tap in their time. This is just one generation away. What will happen when their children take over?
We need to use this medium to takle these issues. Let us let the world know their true stories. I know some of them that could not feed properly pre-1999. Do you know some share these info.

| Re: .How to Submit Articles to the NVS Count Dooku,
Just to make it absolutely clear, you are not under any obligation to do this - but if you want to do so, go here: http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/...splay.php?f=48 All,
Please do NOT ask people to go and get a 'visa' if you are not prepared to make it clear how to do this. It is very unfair to disorient newcomers to the Village in this way. |

Yes - it can talk about anything, as long as it isn't grossly offensive, isn't libellous and doesn't gratuitously incite hatred. Certainly, fictional short stories are very welcome - we have had a few of those in the past.

NARCISSTIC NIGERIA AND NIGERIANS (NNN)
Written by Ogede Omo Noble
“Narcissism describes both a psychological and a cultural condition. On the individual level, it denotes a personality disturbance characterized by an exaggerated investment in one’s image at the expense of the self. Narcissists are more concerned with how they appear than what they feel. Indeed, they deny feelings that contradict the image they seek. Acting without feeling, they tend to be seductive and manipulative, striving for power and control. They are egotists, focused on their own interests but lacking the true value of self-namely, self-expression, self possession, dignity, and integrity. Narcissists lack a sense of self derived from body feelings. Without a solid sense of self, they experience life as empty and meaningless. It is a desolate state.
On the cultural level, narcissism can be seen in a loss of human values- in a lack of concern for the environment, for the quality of life, for one’s fellow human being. A society that sacrifices the natural environment for profit and power betrays its insensitivity to human needs. The proliferation of material things becomes the measure of progress in the living, and man is pitted against woman, workers against employer, individual against community .When wealth occupies a higher position than wisdom, when notoriety is admired more than dignity, when success is more important than self-respect, the culture itself overvalues “image” and must be regarded as narcissistic.
The narcissism of the individual parallels that of the culture. We shape our culture according to our image and in turn we are shaped by that culture”. (An excerpt from Alexander Lowen’s book Narcissism)
The new generation of Nigerian leader especially in the National assembly must take full cognizance of this study of who we are by legislating effectively against these destructive tendencies. They are the only hope we have, all responsibility of the viability of the Nigerian State rest with their ability to enforce the constitution of the country and maintain its social order.

STTOPP Sttopp,
If you read this link: http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/write-for-us-3.html
you will see this:
" 6. [Articles] should be roughly at least 750 words long."
which would explain why your article would have been better submitted as a post on the Square.
