{Sigh}
I think it's better I declare all and then sign off here until the Admin intervenes.
I got an email of a notification of a bad post yesterday from N.A.R.. Essentially, he had alleged that Bunch17 had made a false allegation against him.
With these things, it's always very tricky to decide, because when it comes down to it, it's all about interpreting the action that N.A.R. took back then. Obviously Bunch17 and Ebe believe that it was an action taken to destroy NVS; N.A.R. doesn't believe that this is the case. What I attempted to do was to edit the post so that the facts stood and other villagers could interpret them as they saw fit. After making the edit, I edited N.A.R.'s post to remove a section where he complained about the edited post, because I had already dealt with it.
After I had already made the edit, I got a message from the Admin about not intervening in such a matter as it didn't appear to be a clear violation of the board rules. I'm confused by this - I would have thought that if a villager accuses another of lying against him, it's quite serious.
Anyway, I'll restore N.A.R.'s post later on today when I have access to the edited material, and I'll await the Admin's word on whether Bunch17's post should be left as is or amended back to what it was. Hopefully, the Admin will also clarify what needs to be done in situations like this.

| Pandora's Box! Shoko, I am afraid you have opened the Padora's box. Moreover despite your intentions, you have not come across as a honest broker. I am afraid that you fell for what Aji had in mind all the time. I have said it before that he tried to destroy the NVS and his recent acts are similar to what he tried to do then.
It is clear to every one what an emotive subject censorship is to villagers as a whole, yet Aji publicly call for the admin to edit the posts of another member and admin has done as he asked.
BTW: I had expected an e-mail from the admin to point out any errors/slight that may have been contained in my post. I check my PM and e-mail expecting that at least I would have been given the opportunity to defend or amend my position as the case may be but you took it upon yourself to amend my post. In your post above, you have decide to reverse your amendment of Aji's post while waiting for further instructions from admin on the reversal of the amendments you made to my post. What I attempted to do was to edit the post so that the facts stood and other villagers could interpret them as they saw fit
You could equally be accused of editing it to make the villagers interpretion favour Aji, was it really necessary to do this when I had placed a link to where he made the statements. The villagers could easily have gone to the link, read the entire thread and make up there minds if I was imagining it or not? I would have thought that if a villager accuses another of lying against him, it's quite serious.
Yes it is serious when a villager accuses another of lying period.
Could you say you did not honestly see these ? Stop lying! Ebe Stop lying! Stop lying, Why do you always have to make me waste valuable time exposing your lies and hatred? Must you lie? How better are you than those who you accuse if you tell small lies here and they are telling larger lies in Aso Rock? There is probably no difference between you and those you condemn. If you have any principles stop lying!
Shoko,
This is the trap you have fallen into and there is no way out of it really. You have set the precedence on what can be edited and what can be left. I must say that I am disapointed that you let yourself fall into such a trap. It was the same problem at the Chuck Odili site where Aji again used to run to Chuck to ban people whom he got into hot water with.

No precedent has been set yet, since I don't even know if my actions will be sanctioned by the Admin or not. I think we had better wait until the final word from the Admin before deciding on this.
I'm surprised that you object to my decision to reverse my edit N.A.R.'s post. I thought that you were offended by the fact that I edited it in the first place?
As to the rest of your post, I'll wait until the Admin's intervention before saying anything further.

| Re: .Is this President corrupt? Obasanjo`s 200 million shares in Transcorp I beg pray God to grant me wisdom in matters like these.
I'm always tied in knots whenever a villager calls the admin to intervene in altercations if a clear violation of the board rules is not established. However, when posts are reported to be of malicious intent and whatnot, but we have not seen a clear violation of rules of decorum, I'll rather have the author asked to prove his case openly on the site with facts and have the complainer refute those facts openly as well. This way what's what becomes clear to the reading public.
If the author cannot support his clams with facts, then the admin and moderators will have room to contact the author and ask him/her to amend his post teling him what rule he's violated, and if he failes to do that, we then have room to take further actions.
I've learnt the hard way (from my own altercations with my buddy Kenn) that edtting someone's post in a forum like this can be a slippery slope as only the author can fully judge the intent. When its a case of personal insults, or use of abusive words, its a different matter as we are training the software to turn the bad words into gilberish.
So on this matter, I think Bunch17 and Aji need to be told what needs to be amended and I'm sure they'll be gentleman enough to do just that.

To the issue of Aji's call to return to Nigeriaworld at the inception of this site, I cant say for sure if that was meant to destroy this site because I myself was willing to give Chuck a benefit of the doubt if only he was willing to come here and explain to members what happened and apologize, but he was not willing and here we are. Since then Aji has not only been a strong member of the site, but has also been helping at the backend and I expect this will continue to be the case.

| Re: .Is this President corrupt? Obasanjo`s 200 million shares in Transcorp Shoko, I am disappointed that you edited a post.
My view is simply that you do not interfere with such a situation.
To edit a post when a response to it has been posted changes the dynamics of the discussions taking place. It has the risk of turning the tables on the individuals involved making the instigator the victim and vice versa.

Sounds good. I'll reverse the edits as best as I can when I'm able to do so in a few hours. Bunch17,
I apologise for making you feel the way do you on this matter. Hopefully, this incident should make it clearer as to how to handle these kinds of situations so that they don't recur.

Shoko and Big K,
I appreciate the responses and intervention. And now as I indicated in the private mails that I sent to you both, we move on! Be rest assured, I will continue to support NVS as much as I can as time permits. We have a great thing going on here. Compared to what lies ahead, these are trivialities.
Gracias!
Gwobe,
Damn! Do you have a online collection of the lyrics of all Fela's songs!!??? Thank you jare!

I dey wait dem.

Which one now?
Since I made a fool of myself in some rofo rofo fights some time ago, (much to your amusement , I might add) , I'm just returning the favour.
In spite of my clear verbal uppercuts and body slams on my opponents, you even awarded the fellow more points than me. Now I ask you, is that fair?
I take God beg you, allow me referee this una fight. I promise to be fair. Because it is two against one, I will even revise my score and throw in a bonus point for you
REVISED SCORE AT END OF ROUND ONE:
Ebe 1
Bunch 1
Aji 2
I declare a draw.
O.K .... GONG : COMMENCE ROUND 2
Just to demonstrate my new found gender correct attitude - Oya fire on .Fight like a (wo)man jo!!!
Obugi,
Just wait me. I dey wear trouser!!!

| Re: .Is this President corrupt? Obasanjo`s 200 million shares in Transcorp Thank God all the turenchi about NAR did this, Ebe2 did that is over. I must commend the other people on this site for not joining in and adding petrol to the fire. It was really a side discussion to the main issue: whether OBJ's trust is blind or not. I think we are all adults and we are able to make judgments about the characters that are on here. I was not expecting sweet smelling characters when I joined this site anyway and my expectations in this respect are being met everyday.
Big K, very nice judgment. May God continue to give you wisdom; a little to the left and little to the right

| Re: .Is this President corrupt? Obasanjo`s 200 million shares in Transcorp This is the lattest jist regarding this saga: http://www.thetimesofnigeria.com/ind...k=view&id=1014 Transcorp Scandal: President Mounts Pressure On Banks For Loan
BY Leadership Newspaper
DATE : Monday, 21 August 2006
President Olusegun Obasanjo is mounting pressure on 10 banks to extend a credit facility of $675million to bail out Transnational Corporation of Nigeria (Transcorp).
The loan facility -- a syndicated loan package is to enable the corporation pay the balance outstanding on its bid price of $750million for 75 per cent equity stake in NITEL. The company was only able to pay $75million or 10 per cent initial payment of the bid price.
The pressure became necessary, Leadership gathered, because the directors of the 10 blue-chip banks are foot-dragging over fears that the political nature of the sale could put their investment in jeopardy, especially after the exit of the present administration led by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
However, in order to ensure that the sale goes through, sources told Leadership, the president has taken charge of all activities concerning the sale.
But it is the job of the National Council on Privatisation (NCP) to supervise the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE). Prior to this development, Vice President Atiku Abubakar was responsible for the supervision of the activities of the NCP.
Meanwhile, the next meeting of the National Council on Privatisation is slated for the first week of September where the issue of NITEL sale is expected to be on the front burner.
Though Transcorp won the bid for 75 per cent equity stake in NITEL on June 30, it has severally failed to meet the payment terms.
By BPE’s rule it should have paid $500million as the first tranche of the $750million, but the directors asked for more time to enable them resolve issues concerning the share purchase agreement.
Speaking to journalists recently, the director-general of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, Mrs. Irene Chigbue, confirmed that the deadline had been extended and that the transaction with Transcorp might be renegotiated.
