What Tribes In Nigeria Can Really "Throw Down" A Good Party?

Gosh...work is slow tonight....what can I ruminate on now to keep awake?


Yeah....yeah...yeah...yeah....

Having a good party for both children and adults needs a lot of preparation and budgetary considerations...

Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.....we are not talking 'money miss road' parties. We are talking razzzzzzzzzzz and a lot of "taste"

I have to give it to Yoruba peeps.....The best parties I have attended in all my life have been given by Yorubas....in terms of style...taste....music...fashion and expenditure...catering...


But......nothing beats the quality of parties thrown by persons other than from the "Egba" tribe because of the "open eye" factor........ESPECIALLY an Onitsha person who grew up in Lagos....Fear them!

Like every aspect of Nigerian affairs....the competition is between the Igbos and the Yorubas.....ALWAYS.

The worst case offenders.

I don't really know what it is about Northerners....and Middle Belters......religion or docility....attending parties held by these groups of people is really meant for them and their likes only.

They can't cook...horrible food....presentation....(? hygiene)
They have no sense of fashion....(color riot guaranteed)
The music is gonna be lousy for sure....
Not much of an effort put into such events...even where money is no object.

Attending parties put together by MOST Northerners or MiddleBelters.....would really suck, for the most part. Just for themselves because they are mostly anti-social personalities and just really never learned to appreciate a good time....no matter how widely travelled they may be.

For such peeps, I usually just send a card with a gift......I do not bother to attend....ALL their parties look like wake-keeping events...

Now let us talk "Igbo" parties....he he he.....

Honestly...these guys are not far from their Hausa/Fulani/Tiv counterparts.

One thing I can't stand about Igbo parties is the dismal fashion sense.....a mixture of traditional and western outfits. A couple arrives at the venue of the party......the man is in suit and the lady is in 'buba and iro'.....total lack of coordination.......and they don't seem to care about their appearances and those of their kids....they just show up....

Without the 'tribalistic' component....absent in the fantastic Yoruba parties, these parties are the best to attend....especially if it is put together by an "alaye" Igbo lady.....all the goodies will be present for sure.

I guess I have had good experiences with Togolese, Ivory Coast, Cameronian or Ghana men who were infatuated with me.
Although, West African men is a No No for me.

It is out of these world. Very family orientated, nice and wonderful people. Also their parties are wonderful, great music and fun stuff to let your hair down.
I must confess, I love all things South African, especially the Zulus. I guess we are like kindred spirits, except only for their polygamous ways.
I admire their way of life and values, how they can implore or utilize controlled violence every now and again, when neccesary.
They are very original, spontaneous, and one of the most warmest people in the world.
Of course my all time hero, the Great Shaka Zulu. A very wise and capable leader.
