My thoughts have recently turned to Nigerians at home who want to go abroad by this article:

Now my position on this issue has been clear for a long time - there's nothing good or bad about wanting to leave Nigeria. It's a personal choice that each person must make, depending on his personal circumstances.

I'm trying to decide whether Chidi is being tongue-in-cheek, or whether he really is serious. I guess the fact that he's posted pictures may indicate the latter.

But the reaction to his article also makes me wonder why we look down on people when they try to promote themselves. After all, some form of self-promotion is needed...

No doubt there are monumental problems afflicting Nigeria as a country. I just can't help feeling that it is not enough to use these problems as a reason not to love this country, not to be able to show a sense of pride.
