Emotions Running Wild

I thought of the appropriate way to put my feelings at present, but the most practicable of all my consideration is to post them here.

Okay, what's on my mind? It's this mad country called Nigeria, that's what's on my mind. Yes, not the average Nigerian people, but the high and mighty Nigerian elite. The corrupt politicians, the inept people managing our national affairs.

Smiley Madness

The recent clamour here on NVS for some more smileys has made me think about how important these symbols are in informal e-communication. Hardly can you receive an email these days without a being included. Or if the person is too poor to afford a picture, then you'll at least get a :-).

The first thing that comes to mind is the name. Personally, I actually prefer using the word 'emoticon' since some smileys like are not smiling at all. But I guess that the smiling smiley...
