One prominent feature of Nigerian democracy is that many Nigerian politicians see their positions as an opportunity to enrich themselves. This means that they usually try to rig their way into power, and once in power, they try to stay there for as long as possible.

However, term limits imposed by the Nigerian constitution mean that after eight years, Nigerian governors have to look for something else to do. Sometimes, they may decide to go into business with money they have obtained...

There's a lot of angst and rage about the current situation in Nigeria on NVS. Hardly a day goes by without someone writing an article or making a post about how terrible things are, how Nigerian leaders are running the nation aground and how we need to change. Of course, the trouble is that change isn't an easy thing - it would take lots of money, manpower and time to effect the change that many Nigerians desire.

But what IF change was so easy to bring about? What if all someone...

A President for a Month

Okay my people, let me ask y'all this question. 'How difficult can it be to be the President of Nigeria'? I ask this question because President Umaru Yar'Adua has been a 'Lame Duck' president for almost a year now, hiding behind the escuse of the Election Petition that was recently concluded at the Supreme court. One would have thought that the fact that his election was being disputed by his political opponents would have given him the impetus to make earth shattering moves to convince nigerians...
