Pathos of a Wilting Rose

Pathos of a Wilting Rose

Thumbs up Pathos of a Wilting Rose

I found this book riveting and an unpredictable sequel to the prequel, A rose in bloom. this author is relatively unknown but with this book, wouldn't be for too long.

The vivid narrations and twist make for a compelling read. Chimamandu, you've got competition.

Description:

Pathos of a Wilting Rose is a heart rendering tale and lucid portrait of our contemporary society. Nkiru Ubaka thought she had it all, a very promising future, affluent parents and lovable fiancé until the rug was suddenly swung from beneath her feet and she tumbles into a free fall. This book traces her spellbindingly transition from a once confident damsel through a devastating interlude that threatens to shatter her strong spirit. This is the much awaited and riveting sequel to highly acclaimed ‘A Rose in Bloom’. It also offers both permanence and an astounding insight into some of the characters portrayed in its prequel. In as much as these two books are intertwined, they are also separate entities. Pathos of a wilting Rose is an easy book to grasp even if you haven’t read the first.

@ira: I am in the States and therefore use amazon.com. I checked amazon.co.uk as well not that I will buy from there when I am not crazy, but there was still no pathos of a wilting rose. I checked the other books and was able to get the whimsical rhapsody, but the other one was unavailable as well. Please at least provide the links for us so that we can view what you are able to. Thank you.

The Author should be commended for weaving the words into a rythm painting a semblance that all can identify with.

Competiton for Chinamanda, hmm i must say i am begining to feel that way.

Well pardon the distraction.

About the book.......

Pathos of the Wilting Rose is the unpredictable and riveting sequel to a Rose in Bloom.
After reading A Rose in Bloom which is the story a young Nigerian girl, Nkiru Ubaka. She had come from a very wealthy family but fail in love with an unassuming gentleman from her alma-mater. Her family decided to check out his roots and found out he was an Osu. Uncannily enough her lover Obinna had no idea he was one. cut a long story short but they were finally set to marry after a whole hulaballoo from her family and his.

While you'd assume they lived very happily after in the sequel but there's the rude but exciting shock story line. we had always seen Nkiru as a confident and idealistic lady, ready to take on the world but her Obinna's untimely death shattered her world. along the line, they discovered that Obinna's mother had originally hailed from her town.

This book also signifies the authors coming of age. the earlier tentativeness in the first book was not evident in this book as she gave a riveting and palpable account of these events.

@ira: Thanks for the additional info. Apparently A Rose in Bloom is not the full title and that is what I kept putting in the amazon search. I will look out for the Pathos of a Wilting Rose. Seems to me they will be very interesting books.

@enna inot: See us oh, both of them just dey use style style to ta-ge (flirt with each other)!
