*Hunter** College School of Social Work and Nigerian Social Workers
Association's forum on orphans and vulnerable children in Nigeria.*
*The Nigerian Social Workers Association** is a partner in the **Hunter
School of Social Work-led** and American International Health
Alliance-sponsored program to strengthen the capacity of the Federal
University of Social Work, Enugu, and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, to
provide training in social work, case management, leadership, and other
skills necessary for the comprehensive care for orphans and vulnerable
children (OVC) and their families in Nigeria.*
*Our partners from the two above-named Nigerian institutions will be on a
working visit to the US from December 3, 2008 through December 13, 2008. On
December 6, 2008, from 4pm to 7pm, we are organizing a reception for them
and a forum to address the plight of all vulnerable children in Nigeria,
including those falsely accused of witchcraft, brutalized and abandoned in
Akwa Ibom State. We shall explore strategies to provide protection and
succor to these children. *
*The venue of the reception and forum is Hunter College School of Social
Work located at 129 E79th Street (Room 1010), New York, NY 10075. *
