| Re: Prayer Stretchers/Requests
A special Tribute to a dear friend, learnt of the passing onto glory of a very special lady who i got to know through some friends at church. She was diagnosed in 2004...Brain Tumor...we had prayed and believed God for the tumor to shrink and dissappear. It did shrink, but later the medications stopped working and she was in so much pain.
I've never apart from Nigeria, Africa seen the kind of faith exercised by her and the husband .....even when she's in pain, she struggles to attend bible studies, always smiling. They left for another Province last year, we kept praying and believing God for healing........just got word from the husband that she's gone to be with the lord....part of the bible passage and song of Praise (he's forever praising God)he sent round to us his friends through email is this:-
To God be the glory, great things He has done;
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life gate that all may go in.
Refrain:
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He has done.
O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
Great things He has taught us, great things He has done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.
And A.... IS seeing Jesus! In the hospital A... always seemed to rally on Sunday, it was the best day for her in the whole week. THIS PAST SUNDAY WAS HER VERY BEST and everyday thereafter forever.........>>>>>
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"
John 11:25-26.
Her soul will rest easy with God. It is well, for the God we serve is the all seeing God and the all knowing one, nothing catches him unawares.

| Re: Prayer Stretchers/Requests Has anyone heard of the prayer of Jabez, just heard of it recently and I;m going to try to start using it for my prayer meditation--i.e assuming I can find how to get the book and pamphlet. It was written by one white pastor Wilkinson or something...
emj may your friend rest in perfect peace and may the voice reverbrate and join the joyful noise in heaven. And her family God's peace and comfort in this time and pain.

| Re: Prayer Stretchers/Requests Prayer Request from a Friend and Member of NVS:-. I got news about the passing away of a dear friend, quite young with little kids. Tuberculosis they said. I also know of someone who is currently suffering from Brain Tumor (diagnosed in 2006). All these disease manifesting in the wrong people and those who are in the Lord for that matter. I think we need to pray that every tree that has not been planted by our Heavenly Father in His children who are called by His name will be uprooted, also none of the diseases peculiar to the land wherein we dwell will afflict us (Amen).
PS .............every tree that has not been planted by our Heavenly Father in His children who are called by His name will be uprooted, also none of the diseases peculiar to the land wherein we dwell will afflict us
THANKS

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
There is something about that name
Master, Saviour, Jesus
Like the fragrance after the rain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Let the heavens and the earth proclaim
Kings and Kingdoms shall pass away
But there's something about that name.

God give us the grace that when the day of accountability comes, both the living and the dead will make worthy inputs on how we positively touched their lives.
Reminds me of this old song I love to sing. Can't find it on Youtube so if anyone can source it for me, I'll appreciate that. Included are other songs by this great daughter of God.
By Evie Karlsson – Late 70s
Oh I want to be remembered
As a girl who sang her songs for Jesus Christ
Who was willing to lay down her life
And do His will no matter what the price
I am singing for a blind eye
Who can hear about salvation through my song
I am singing for a deaf ear
Who can see the light in me and come along
Chr: Live for Jesus, that’s what matters >2x
And when other houses crumble, mine is strong
(replaceable with another version – when others are fainting,
you’ll be strong)
Live for Jesus, that’s what matters
That you see the light in me and come along
There are times when I’ve attempted
To turn off this rugged road I travel on
There are times when I’ve said “Jesus,
Can’t you find another girl to sing your song?”
But I know it’s not that I’m the only one who can sing this melody,
But he’s chosen me to bless me and to lead me
Into what is best for me. Oh
Chr: Live for Jesus, that’s what matters>2X
When others are fainting, I’ll be stong
Live for Jesus, that’s what matters
That you see the light in me and come along.

I found some other ones she sang and decided to post them out in faith hoping they will touch someone. Sitting down to watch the last video myself in the square, I found out she actually did sing the song I was searching.
God is Awesome.

| Re: Prayer Stretchers/Requests The middle of the night can be a very surprising time. It's the time when memories of the past can suddenly come from "out of nowhere" to haunt us.
There's anything wrong with reminiscing in itself. But please, don't let it control you. If it does, it can drain your mental and emotional energy.
Once the enemy gets you hooked on paying too much attention to the past, he can rob you of the vital refreshment the Lord wants to give you in sleep. As a result, you won't awaken refreshed.
Instead of focusing on the past as you go to sleep tonight, foil the enemy's plan. Re-focus your mind on the Lord instead. Fill your mind with a scripture or meditations of Him so He can do a deep, revitalizing work and give you peace.
As the prophet Isaiah said: "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You" (Isaiah, 26:3, NKJV).
Accept the peace and the relief He wants for you from all unsettling memories. Experience the deep rest that will come from fixing your mind totally on Him as you go to sleep.

| Re: Prayer Stretchers/Requests I Cor 13:13. But now these three remain: faith, hope [or, confident expectation], love-but [the] greatest of these [is] love.
When all is said and done, these are the three things which will have eternal consequences: faith, hope and love. Lives built on these will endure eternally.
Love is greater than hate.
Truth is greater than lies.
Joy is greater than sorrow.
Peace is greater than fear.
Light is greater than darkness.
Life is greater than death.
I choose Life.

| Re: Prayer Stretchers/Requests This new version of the 'footprints' story really caught me off guard at the end...What a blessing.
JUST READ IT!
FOOTPRINTS...A New Version
Imagine you and the Lord Jesus are walking down the road together. For much of the way, the Lord's footprints go along steadily, consistently, rarely varying the pace.
But your footprints are a disorganized stream of zigzags, starts, stops, turnarounds, circles, departures, and returns.
For much of the way, it seems to go like this, but gradually your footprints come more in line with the Lord's, soon paralleling, His consistently.
You and Jesus are walking as true friends!
This seems perfect, but then an interesting thing happens: Your footprints that once etched the sand next to Jesus' are now walking precisely in His steps.
Inside His larger footprints are your smaller ones, you and Jesus are becoming one.
This goes on for many miles, but gradually you notice another change. The footprints inside the large footprints seem to grow larger.
Eventually they disappear altogether. There is only one set of footprints. They have become one.
This goes on for a long time, but suddenly the second set of footprints is back. This time it seems even worse! Zigzags all over the place. Stops. Starts. Gashes in the sand. A variable mess of prints.
You are amazed and shocked.
Your dream ends. Now you pray:
'Lord, I understand the first scene, with zigzags and fits. I was a new Christian; I was just learning. But You walked on through the storm and helped me learn to walk with You.'
'That is correct.'
'And when the smaller footprints were inside of Yours, I was actually learning to walk in Your steps, following You very closely.'
'Very good.. You have understood everything so far.'
When the smaller footprints grew and filled in Yours, I suppose that I was becoming like You in every way.'
'Precisely.'
'So, Lord, was there a regression or something? The footprints separated, and this time it was worse than at first.'
There is a pause as the Lord answers, with a smile in His voice.
'You didn't know? It was then that we danced!' To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
Ecclesiastes 3:1,4.

Good morning!
King David wasn't perfect by any stretch. But he sure knew how to start the day.
"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for to you, I lift up my soul" (Psalm 143:8).

| Re: Prayer Stretchers/Requests Hmmm....had started the day on a fast pace, wanting to pack in as many appointments and work load to fill my day, but the lord had other plans for me.
Had thought i had everything including emotions all in check and could withstand juess about anything(superwoman)....but then my brother, friend and confidant decided to give me a call, and pass on an information which i would normally take and still be myself against it's full impact/import...but alas, i broke down, it triggered off what i thought i was done with and was over......had a serious emotional breakdown right there in my office and realised that rather than deal fully and allow myself to heal had swept that aspect of my life under the carpet.......my friend i realised was alarmed and was apologising thinking he had opened up a deep wound.....what he did not know was that the lord had planned for it to happen now so that i can really deal with it........he prayed with me and stayed on the line for a while to be sure that i was okay.....i could have taken the day off and gone home ...take a sorta time out, but God in his special way took control....not only did i attend to all my appointments, i was able to function properly without anyone even noticing that there was anything amiss..........to you my friend and brother, i say thank you, it is well and shall continue to be well.
I got home, thinking that yes i would have a quiet evening doing some other stuff, but then God had use of me at another place and for another purpose...a friend of mine who for the longest time had been toying with the idea of when to give her testimony which am sure when we get to hear it in full on sunday evening will wrought healing and deliverance and also salvation called me. She had shared some of the painful part of her testimony with some of us last year. She wanted us to meet at Starbucks with her Pastor and another friend who is the worship Director of their church.....i mused and said to myself, we normally go to starbucks to gist and reason together, how da heck are we going to deliberate about fashioning a program with the proper spiritual ambience needed.......not only were we able to deliberate in our own corner, we prayed in our own corner each and everyone committing the Sunday evening that she had choosen to the lord in prayer. The Pastor has had 2meetings at Starbucks and gone through(only God knows how many cups of coffee.....they now know him in some outlets)
Hmmm......why am i sharing this....am sharing it becos u need to know that whatever it is that you are going through, someone else had been through worse, and the God that saw them through will see u through. God's got your back...have you got his?...Oh u feel that no one will take u serious when u profess ur faith.....Faith is not written on da face.....the Pastor we met with and prayed with looked so ordinary that when u see him(looks like those white artists) on the road or even where we wia sitted together, u would think from the way he was dressed that...hmm, u must be kidding me.......stop judging people by their outward look....forget about the color of the bolekaja...abegy enter
I give God the glory for ending my day well, what he has in stock for me tomorrow, i know not.
Starting this thread like i told our friend that had to leave NVS suddenly was not even my doing...wat God intends it for will be met.....if i did not start it, he would have passed me by and made someone else to do that which is necessary......i might joke around a lot, but the head of my life is in control and knows when to rein me in
Hmm...my life is not in the hand of any human being, but in the hands of the potter himself....it is well __________________ Eni Olorun da Kose Clone >I prefer to be full of God....No Bullshtzing< >We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to Public Office..Aesop< >Ape ko to jeun, ki je baje < >The Price Of Greatness Is Responsibility..Winston Churchill< >“It ain’t so much what people know that hurts them as what they know that ain’t so.”- Artemus Ward < >Although men are accused of not knowing their own weakness, yet perhaps few know their own strength. The Lord works in mysterious ways...we often miss how God is working in our lives, as we look at events as humans...not through the eyes of faith...which means we often miss God's hand in our lives.........A..>>>>>>>>
I pray the power that resurrected our lord and saviour Jesus Christ to rest on them all. May their spirit be quickened to believe and receive full deliverance from all their troubles.
