Default Wetin dey happen for rivers state - chief of staff and ssg in efcc net

Turns out the governor and his friends are up to some thing(s) that the EFCC has gotten wind of and they have been held to answer.

check this link http://www.saharareporters.com/www/news/detail/?id=744

Is it not too early in the day? For a government "installed by GOD himself" as they claim? What has Rotimi Amaechi doen in Rivers State over the last one year he has been in charge?

I begin to wonder what Amaechi was thinking for the 8 years he nursed the ambition of being the Governor. I think his goal was just "to be the Governor" and he had no vision whatsoever for the state.

I was going beserk when the Silverbird-Rivers State PPP was proposed, to a point where I had to caution myself, cool down and stop commenting. Well, they have brought down the Obi Wali Cultural center and the project has started. Rivers people siddon dey look. Things are going very wrong in Rivers State

Rivers is a state that scores big OH DOH (ZERO) when it comes to security of lives and property. The governor confirms this by having a home address with ZIP CODE somewhere in Atlanta Georgia (because that is where his children reside) while families in Rivers live in perpetual fear for their safety. The government is embarking on beautification, abi restoration of the original P/H master plan, making people bring down fences, breaking shops, destroying the means of livelihood of people who are struggling to get by. The question they have not asked themselves is if that which they are trying to restore meets up with modern expectations of what a city should look like.

Everywhere you turn in the state, what you see is destruction, destruction destruction ... and now, a new side has been revealed ... LOOTING LOOTING LOOTING ... the governor has been in charge for almost 1 year now ... out of which he has spent at least 1 month in accumilated aircraft flying time. Wetin e dey travel up and down dey do? Apart from going to visit his family in Atlanta ... wetin else e dey carry?

If the reports are true that RVSG officials have been held for MONEY LAUNDERING ... and the governor is doing all he can to bail them out...what does that say about him himself? Well, for now, immunity covers him. I think the National Assembly should do something real quick to remove that immunity clause that thieving governors hide under. So they know they can not postpone the date on which they can be held to account for their action

May God help Rivers State ... expose those who have come to hijack power solely for their selfish gains and help the people to come out of this suppression.

Just an update.

Looks like the people held by the EFCC will be arraigned very soon ... possibly today, and the Governor is back from his trip to London, but came through Lagos instead of Abuja ...

We are still watching to see how the story will unfold.

When the Amaechi came back from exile to (re)claim his seat ... the slogan was

"I BELIEVE"
in recognition for those who kept the "faith" and "belief" that Rotimi Amaechi would be the Governor of Rivers State.

When the goverment don siddon well the slogan changed to
"POWER BELONGS TO GOD"
taken from Psalm 62:11 which must have strengthened him spiritually during his time of trribulation.

It seems he didn't assimilate 62:12, the part that said

"and that to YOU oh Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work."

Because if they did, they would have had the fear of God's reproach in them, and not gone against his will by chopping government money intended for the people of Rivers state

IF/WHEN them comot from this trouble, maybe the slogan will change to
"GOD IS THE ULTIMATE JUDGE"

We are watching

They said they are turning portharcourt to a megacity and started with demolition of "illegal structures".
The ones along the major road no problem. But the construction of the walkways and parking lot is so slow that the demolition part is the only visible activity going on.
This to me is sad.
Asking people to return deeds of conveyance and certificate of occupancy of lands legitimately acquired by thier owrners for God knows what is another step of the new admistration of Amaechi that is raising another dust.
Something is really fishy here. God help Rivers State.
Restoring the Portharcourt master plan that the general public has little or no knowledge of. Yes, we are watching this game!

But Magma come o! this your OBJ averter, I no overstand am o! (apologies to my buroda Eja)

My dear brother,

E go better for Rivers State oh!

We have to go throught this for am to better.

I come to this forum to post stuff, cos I want to hear other people's views ... and i thank God for the few who help me rationalize the craziness by reponding to my posts. But even the silence of others is an indication that the problem is ours and ours alone.

Turning PH to a mega city? Is it possible? Can they uproot Ogbunabali, Rumumasi ... even Town sef, wey be the good plan wey the master plan get. D/line wey good ... how good is it by modern standards? No amount of demolition go change port harcourt to Dubai or US

What stops this government from turning right when coming out of Omagwa airport and providing the basic infrastructure (plan the area, provide roads, water, light, schools, hospitals, and call the palms to come do PPP bring shopping mall come) to encourage migration from this congested Port Harcourt and encourage new development? Is it rocket science?

God go send us a LEADER and give the people VOICE.

One guy said it all in one sentence yesterday on the news ...
"we have been blessed with all a country can ask for ... material and human resources, good climate, but e remain just one thing ... we have not been lucky enough to be blessed with good leadership.

God go help Rivers State.

Well .. the latest now be say MEND don issue their own statement for Sahara reporters, and ELENDU REPORTS DEY WRITE WETIN I NO SABI www.elendureports.com

We are still watching

I have just joined the village square and I am very impressed by this article on Rivers State. I pray that the EFCC will release Rivers people from these oppressors that call themselves political office holders. In one year they state categorically that they have spent 120billion naira on roads. The question is:where are the roads in Rivers State. The roads are in their pockets and bank accounts. Their aides have bought several houses abroad and relocated their families. Money is spent as if it is going out of fashion. Villagers don't be bored of this problem because if it is not solved then the Niger Delta problem will continue.

Wink Re: Wetin dey happen for rivers state - chief of staff and ssg in efcc net

Hi, folks!

I believe this is the time for Mr. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to search his conscience thoroughly and reconcile himself with the fact that he can choose either to live above board, and make his mark in Nigerian history, or fall for the temptation that he can eat from both sides of his mouth, consuming his cake and still finding it in tact in his hands, metaphorically speaking.

Mr. Chibuike Amaechi should realize that prosterity expects much more from him than from any other political leader in Rivers State at any time in its 41 years of existence; more than it expected of 27 years old Commander Alfred Diete Spiff; more than Sir (Barrister) Celestine Omehia; much more than even Dr. (Sir) Peter Odili. It is left for him to make or mare his opportunity.

Unavoidably, he has to follow the injunctions of the Sage of Nazareth: "If your right hand will cause you to be consigned to hell, then cut it off. If your right eye will make you miss out on the Kingdom of God, please pluck it out!" Starting from his immediate matrimonial space, within his nuclear family, to his close confidants, and associates, including opportunistic female power prostitutes in the corridors of the new Brick House, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi would need to make some very honest-to-God and thorough soul searching to re-appraise their alignment (or otherwise) with his professed mission to serve the people of Rivers State in a just, transparent, and accountable manner. For me, Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has no alternative than to distance himself from corruption and hypercritical politics at ALL TIMES.

Quite frankly, the disappointment with his style and delivery in governance so far, including the generally low public perception of his seeming inconsistencies, are palpable, all over the state, and I am sure he is aware of it. I believe it is not too late for him do some chopping off of a couple of arms and plucking out of a few eyeballs!

Muchas gracias.

Abraxas!
Thank you for that imput to this discussion. I believe that these people read from these fora. A few days ago, Radio Rivers were quoting the government of an attempt at absolving themseves of the EFCC inditement. They referenced report by Sahara Reporters.
This morning they have started declaring that they have no plans of taking any land by force from any village. It might be as a result of the ongoing agitation against the idea of converting peoples legitimate properties to GRA phase 8.
Those supposedly qualified, to be alloted the new GRA lands, no one can say. We hoped that the idea was not to take the land and distribute among their political jobbers and hangers on at the corridors of power.
The government should for once try and develop the villages sorrounding Portharcourt city without roads, light or any serious or meaningful government presence.
