Another shameless, incompetent and visionless African leader follows the footsteps of his predecessors while we, the cowardly masses, keep mute as usual.

Is this not the same story that was used last year when the man went MIA for 4 weeks or so?

I saw on BOS Turai laying the foundation stone for her cancer centre pet project. That foundation stone will surely be the only stone that will be laid because it is just another project that is bound to fail. If she was really serious about making any difference, why not choose any of the many derelict 'hospitals' in the country and turn it into the cancer centre?

People are so brainwashed that something good can come out of that country. How is that possible when your number 1 citizen goes abroad for a medical check up?

There is nothing bad going for check up ke!even the battery in my pikin car just pack up yesterday and i have asked manchester to help see if we can get better one.the advantage of going abroad for checkup is that oyinbos wont give the person tokunbo battery, unless he is asleep when replacement is being done.the koko question which no one is asking is why in a country of 140million able bodied peoples do we have the ill luck of picking or ending up with sickomania?do or die dividend of democracy no doubt.we pray nothing untoward happens or we all shall be drafted to Now Your Suffering Continues(NYSC)!

Patients Groan as UCH Hikes Fees

From Tunde Sanni in Ibadan, 08.11.2009
Source

Patients from indigent background are now groaning as the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan announced a 50 per cent increase on its fees. But the hospital management which said it sympathised with the poor patients has said that the fees regime was not meant to punish the patients.
The hospital, last week, announced an upward review in the admission, feeding, laboratory, X-ray fees and others by 50 percent. The admission fee rose from N300 per day to N1, 000, and feeding fees from N450 to N600. Due to the increase, some patients had to return home for not having enough money on them.
Chief Information Officer and Head, Public Relations Department of the hospital, Mr. Toye Akinrinlola, who spoke with newsmen on the new fees stated that the fees were still low compared to the fees payable in other medical establishments.
According to him, the hike in fees could not in any way be compared with the quality services that the hospital offer. He added that the renal surgery successfully done cost the hospital over N12million and it was done free of charge.
Apart from this, he pointed out further that due to the epileptic power supply by the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), the hospital pays heavily every month for the fuel it uses to power the generators in virtually all the departments.
He said, “we spend so much on diesel. We spend about N6million on diesel every month to power our generators. If there is little or marginal increase in our fees, it is to serve Nigerians better”.

The last time I presume-d, you are a citizen of that country, and you are good. How that is possible, isnt much of astronomy.

More of our inability to as of yet, kill the Obasanjos in our midst...
