So...with one meeting it is easy to figure out the most basic things......Not an option....DON'T CALL BACK! Even after real life meeting... the skill is knowing how to tell the difference between their dreams and their realities. I HAVE met some NVS men... I just refuse to settle for "less" like I did in my first marriage. To each his own!
I agree.....at this stage in life....it would be quite impossible to meet your needs. Not because you are too picky, .....but because you have a most definite sense of self and know the consequences of lame compromises. Furthermore, with the infinite wisdom that comes with past experiences, the out come of whatever relationship you choose to embark upon can easily be measured with the blessing of intuition. The hand-writing is always on the wall....and your instincts are ever so sharpened.
Same goes here....having received the best I could possibly ever receive......I really do not see it getting better than it already is....so there is really no point in looking. That does not mean I cannot make new friends....but I have learned to set boundaries while protecting all I have.....that is gooooooooooooood... Keep dreaming, you were never in the market to begin with... this whatever you call it between you and your husband is not my type of marriage... what market are you off? You're not even close .

The glass is half empty theorist huh? Ask me all that when I celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary. The most important thing is that when someone loves/NEEDS you.....and vice versa....the rest is workable. YOU MUST HAVE SOMETHING TO OFFER IN ANY RELATIONSHIP TO MAKE YOU INDISPENSIBLE. ...I know what I have to give.....and is toooooooooooo much.... Only a very stupid man would burn such bridges....and vice versa....So in some cases...divorce becomes an absolute waste of time...especially when you can have it ALL.....without stress....
As long as that certificate is valid in the 50 states of the US and Edo/Delta areas of Nigeria....nothing else matters. It is the finishing that matters..... not the content.
Look at the bright side:
I will ALWAYS have someone to take me to the hospital and feed me when I am sick(hopefully not anti-freeze)
I will ALWAYS have someone to cook for me and take care of my kids.....
I will ALWAYS have someone to say.....hello baby.....how bodi?....you face 'twist' one kind today...kilo happs?(he knows I need money to go visit one of my boyfriends)
I will ALWAYS have someone to fight with and make up with....
I will ALWAYS have someone to say.....hello honey.....you look great tonight......MOMMY....what would I have done without you in this world?....My reply......always the same....NOTHING DARLING....ABSOLUTELY NOTHING....DADDYL
I will ALWAYS have someone to say......abeg carry that nyansh come here, no matter how stale.....
Not the kind you rent online or on NVS! ......A steady hand and a rock of all ages that is always sooooooooooooo reliable and is ALWAYS there...no matter what you do...because of one thing....LOVE.....I can manage ALL other imperfections darling. I may be stupid....but my stupidity has some definite limitations...
NO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE? Always a winner then...everything else...piece of cake.
Always a work in progress....till the final end....or till God says otherwise. My parents survived.....and in the same tradition.....we will.
Off to work jare! Thank God for a stress free life.... |

That's why you're Babine and I'm Oluwato... I let Oluwa (Lord) to (be sufficient, be enough, be strong). Our different belief/faith systems decide our assessments of our capabilities. That IS the blessing, not the curse. With knowledge comes empowerment! I got into the first one because of ignorance which led into deception. I'm glad I now know so I can glow! It's not impossible, with MY GOD - Adonai, all things ARE possible, it's really empowering, I'm actually enjoying the experience . The glass is half empty of what? Whatever the fluid in the glass, whether you prefer empty or full, the fact is there is only 50% (sorry you're talking to an epidemiologist). Keep dreaming, love and need is relative, you just displayed it here . Everybody HAS something to offer in a relationship, God designed it that way... "what" that is however is relative. You and your husband "agree" (I hope) on your type of marital union (close to open marriage or serial adultery, whatever you call it) where you hold a monogamous marriage license and you're both free to sleep with other people secretly...that to me is absurd and it will never happen. That's dull brightness. With a high risk of STDs from the escapades you both have the length of "togetherness" is stiffed. You could very well add that you will always have someone to transmit STI/STD to you and you to them! Most importantly, God's word, the Bible denounces such terms of unions! I don't do renting at all. But hey, to each his/her own, enjoy! Originally Posted by Babine NO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE? Always a winner then...everything else...piece of cake.
That's arguable. I consider serial adultery, polygyny, open marriage and the likes a form of domestic violence. You started the comparisons, just going with the flow, also "judgmental" is a relative term.
Cheers.

I thought about that.
Then, I decided that it would be cool to just deal with all the issues on this thread.
Oluwato,
I have observed that you are very comfortable talking about your ex, openly on this board.
Let me quickly inform you that I do not agree with you on virtually every issue concerning your ex. (I mean the issues, you have hinted on, so far on this board)
I would love to help you find and bring a completion to this issue
I have some questions for you, regarding your ex.
Do I have the green light from you, to roll out my polite and friendly questions ?

Fine with me, t'was just a suggestion. Originally Posted by Vade Mecum Oluwato,

Depends, I am only comfortable talking about the following regarding my ex - he was the only man I was married to and ever had sex with, he is the biological father to my sons, the marriage was over five years and it was long-distance, he committed adultery and was (still is) worse than an infidel (he was not a good father while we were married and is even a worse one after the divorce, he isn't paying child support yet) and he has not spoken my apology language. Originally Posted by Vade Mecum Let me quickly inform you that I do not agree with you on virtually every issue concerning your ex. (I mean the issues, you have hinted on, so far on this board)
You don't have to. I truly don't care whether you do or not. Originally Posted by Vade Mecum I would love to help you find and bring a completion to this issue
Thanks for the offer but the only uncompleted thing with my ex and I is child support. So if you're offering (if you know him and you can influence him to pay child support then PM me). Originally Posted by Vade Mecum I have some questions for you, regarding your ex.
Only if it relates to you assisting in getting me child support. Any other questions will have to be answered by him, I'm not his mouthpiece. Originally Posted by Vade Mecum Do I have the green light from you, to roll out my polite and friendly questions ?

Oluwato is getting emotional closure, by rupidiating a hitherto acknowledged person. And very soon, she will have come so far in her healing, She will be totally indifferent to his past antics. Healing is a process and hopefully she is going through hers.
The meaning is self evident BTW...Decree Nisi don grow bia bia, sotay him don become decree absolute.
Since nineteen keredim. nating to bring to completion
According to Wiki wiki wiki.... Decree nisi (non-absolute ruling) is a ruling by a court that does not have any force until such time that a particular condition is met. Once the condition is met the ruling becomes decree absolute and is binding. Typically, the condition is that no new evidence or further petitions with a bearing on the case are introduced to the court.
This form of ruling has become a rarity in recent times, with one exception— in some jurisdictions it is still a standard stage of Divorce meaning,
The Divorce is final...like they say at the airport...Nothing to declare. Full stop. I love that word completion....evokes fond memories.
Believe me.......You dont want me to translate dis wan. Oh no. You dont. trust me on this. I'm outta here.

Oluwato is a christian lady
Thus, the rules are different here
A christian must be ready to abide by God's standard
1 Corinthians 14:33

What rules? Let's not make this thread Oluwato's divorce - I have written my terms up there, if you can abide by them, I'll expect the PM, if not, shalom!

You will agree with me, that you have not mentioned any sin that your husband has committed that is beyond forgiveness ?
As a christian do you agree that we must always forgive ? You don't have to. I truly don't care whether you do or not.
I know that ordinarily you are a very polite and nice person. Thanks for the offer but the only uncompleted thing with my ex and I is child support. So if you're offering (if you know him and you can influence him to pay child support then PM me).
Do you have any idea, why your ex is not interested in paying child support ?
We are talking about his children here. His own blood.
Have you tried to see things from his own perspective ?
Have you tried to find out why he is so bitter with you and even decide to transfer that bitterness and punish his own children, by refusing to pay child support money, over issues the children know nothing about ? Only if it relates to you assisting in getting me child support. Any other questions will have to be answered by him, I'm not his mouthpiece.
You are not his mouth piece. Yes you are not
But then, you have prayed and fasted as a minister of God and God is not sleeping. Yet he has not blessed you with a new and improved man. There is definitely a reason, why God is not in a hurry to answer your prayers for a new and better man.
Yes God is not the author of confusion
Have you considered, whether God is telling you to go back to your husband. That he is not the author of confusion ?
As a Minister of God, don't you think you should go back to your husband and win him over to God first ?
Yes, your husband is not perfect. Are you aware that Apostle Paul had a thorn in the flesh and he prayed thrice for God to remove it, and God told him to live with it; that it was best for him to live with the 'thorn' 2 Corinthians 12: 9
God bless you
