I know this is a strange request, but I was born in the USA (Salt Lake City, Utah to be exact) to a man I think was named Sampson Fatunmbi from Nigeria. He attended school in Logan, UT USA. I was put up for adoption and I'm hoping to reunite with him or any family. My birth name was Adeola... | | | | Aug 25, 2008

Virtue,
I am without words. I have been so busy with school and work I did not have a chance to visit VS and to my surprise there has been a huge development! I am excited with hope that you may be the key to my past. It seems very promising that he knew my name and you had not even mentioned it. Wow, I don't even know how to explain this feeling is as I have never had such promising information. I will keep my expectations low and hope for the best. Everyone here is outstanding!! tears form in my eyes when I read each and every post. Thanks again I will keep you all posted!

Furthermore, what if a woman shows up, just like that, and tells you that she is your long lost mother, what will you do?

I have thought about the possibility that he may have moved on with his life and that I may not be welcomed. Deep down in my heart I can feel something that tells me that is not the case. I don't know how to describe why I am so certain I just am. I am also prepared to be wrong. I have plenty of love in my life from the father that raised me, I am not looking to force myself upon him in anyway as I am not in need of anything. Somehow though, I think that it would satisfy both of us if I were able to let him know that I respect him, and I grateful for the life he gave me.
I suppose I am a bit curious as well, I have yet to lay eyes upon anyone of blood relation to me and I have spent my life explaining why i don't look like anyone in my family, It might be nice to meet someone who I resemble.

I think you will better understand some health issues that has to do with genes as well. I am hoping when you finally find him, and if you folks are open to the idea, your testimony might be good for a documentary for NVS.
About time Big K , Shoko and the folks behind the site think about a documentary on how the site came to be. For people like Adeola, this seems to be a liberating experience.

| Re: Hoping to find my family. Katampe - You are absolutely right on about the health issues. It seems more and more helpful to have that info. My family medical history is a big blank. Time saving on forms but I would rather know if there is anything I should be on the look out for. I agree with you about the importance of this site. I am a very new member but already it has given me a sense of connection. I don't know yet how this will all turn out but I am grateful to have a place like this that allows a message of mine to be read by people all over the world.

That very touching Adeola. I suppose this is something that some of us take for granted.
I pray that your expectations will not be cut short. Good luck

I’m optimistic that Virtues next post will seal it all, with that efforts are been made for the celebration that will follow, the NVS style. My thoughts are with you.

pardon my silence , its not my intention to keep you in suspense as I know how it is for you at this time. I am doing a lot of research and coming out with positive results. But for now, iv just requested for evidence as I dont just want to give you results by word of mouth. I hope the whole episode is laid to rest this week and hopefully it will come with a happy ending. Fingers crossed. Take kia

this must be an interesting time for the whole NVS village as it is the time that we have been waiting for. I am happy to tell you that i finally solved the puzzle. I spoke to your father today and I tell you, all the impression you have about him as someone who really desired you is true. He is reallly looking forward to a reunion with you.
I hope you read this soon as he wont allow me sleep till I link him up with you. I will be waiting to hear from you so that we can seal it all up.
I am so happy for you.

Since Virtue is a jjc ( I dont trust sudden JJCs) can you be a middleman to link Adeola up with his father? I dont want someone 419 Adeola (happens to be one of my daughter's name) when they are actual fraudster. It happened a lot with Vietnam pow/mia where fraudsters preyed on hapless families pretending they had found their loved ones. Just be cautious people!

Virtue,
I'm truly truly happy..and grateful to God for what has been accomplished through you. This is wonderful and I have sent a PM to you and Adeola to convey the news.
This is a day to Celebrate - This thread alone has made the entire NVS thing worthwhile.

I also had a check when I reread it this afternoon. Be careful!
I say go for it though, but if they start by soliciting for money, be careful.

| Re: Hoping to find my family. Dear Virtue,
Bless your dear heart for this labor of love. You are a star and I pray God's favor upon your life for this extraordinary accomplishment.
To Adeola,
Wow!!!!!! I am so glad this is happening. May this be the beginning of great relationships between you and yours as you get to know your biological father and other relatives. I am so very happy for you and your dad.
I am sure you know to ask for specific info. from him about your mom and perhaps, the circumstances surrounding your birth that only your true dad will know in order to confirm the veracity of his story whenever you get round to connecting with him for the first time. Asking for relevant documents to prove he once lived in your state of birth may be helpful too. I am sure he will appreciate the initial scrutiny if he is indeed your dad.
Please, keep us informed of any updates as yours is a truly uplifting story. Best wishes.
Later o.
