Default Owo

INGREDIENTS

300g of fresh tomatoes
1 large onion
3 fresh or dried pepper
2 tablespoons of ground cray fish
1 teaspoon ground potash
200ml palm oil
boiled meat, cow foot, or fish as desired

PREPARATION

1)Blend together 300g of fresh tomatoes,1 large onion, and fresh pepper

2) Pour into a pan and bring to the boil until water dries and its half the original content and turnes into almost a paste.

3)Season and boil ur meat, cow foot, fish or watever you've got till tender and also set aside.

4) Add a generous portion of ground dried crayfish about 2 table spoons into your paste and stir preferably with a wooden spoon, add 1 teaspoon of ground potash(akaun) and stir.

5) Add palm oil to the above mixture until colour evens out to a pale yellowish or orange colour. At this time the mixture should be thick.
To loosen it up a bit, add the meat stock and stir before finally adding the meat or fish.

6) Owo is ready to eat with ripe or unripe plantain or boiled yam.

ps: be careful of the amount of potash put, as it gives a sharp after taste and can cause your tummy run when applied in excess.
