Can't view the article either, but i know that some elders and leaders in some of the south-south communities in the past and even of recent have always waved off help, and instead settle for cash. There has been 1st hand stories of how contractors who go there to do some work have tried to help build/grade roads and build some infrastructure to help alleviate the sufferings of the people, but were desuaded from going further........

I won't be surprised if what ogbuefi Aiksmart is trying to tell us is true. Let's even look deeper.....how can big companies go to such region to set up shop, and not be moved to do something tangible........it's all about Corporate Responsibility........putting something back into the community that made it possible for u to make wealth etc etc.
