Honestly I understand and appreciate the viewpoints of those who have commented against this trip by Segun but I want to see it from another perspective.

Segun is a consummate journalist that we all know. He definitely has something to offer this nation in terms of exposure, experience etc. The impact that such attributes can have will be determined largely by the politics and impediments that will be thrown his way by the office that he occupies. Being the media man of Mr. President is definitely different from being the Editor of a successful national newspaper.

However, his new office will require certain skills which indeed he may have to get from places outside our shores; just as bankers, civil servants etc also go for oversea trainings.
With his background and wealth of experience such a training can only make him a better person as no one knows it all.
Such exchanges in the field of politics, medicine, business etc are also not unusual in today’s world

I must confess that I know him personally so my submission may be in some parts subjective but that is just my take on this matter.
