Default Re: Nuhu Ribadu: A True Defender of The Rule of Law

Ribadu may be a dedicated fighter of corruption, but he is a very selective fighter. He has focused on what is politically useful to his masters, not on what is needed for the nation. There is no point in praising a skilled brain surgeon when he is not allowed to treat the patients who need his care.

Overseas law enforcement agencies are disapppointed in Ribadu and the EFCC. They have provided him with all sorts of information and background on some of Nigeria's biggest villains (politicians, 419ers, business tycoons, etc.) and Ribadu has chosen not to deal with this evidence. In fact some of this information was disclosed by the EFCC as a 'warning' to the very subjects of criminal investigation for reasons no one can truly fathom; although several possible suggestions have been considered.

Internationally, Ribadu is a devalued currency. There is a need for someone in that role who will not be anyone's pet hunting dog but who will enforce the law without fear nor favour. There are precious few Nigerians who don't know exactly who should be investigated and brought to justice; from former heads of state, to former governors, to 'leading businessmen and bankers', to glorified 'gofers' and to the godfathers which have sustained them.

No one seriously thinks the Ribadu is willing to do that job so it is time that he move aside for someone who might be willing.
