Chief Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu, controversial Ibadan politician and self-styled garrison commander of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), passed on this morning at the University College Hospital in Ibadan. Before his eventual passage, the octogenerian was rumoured to be seriuosly ill, eventhough he often denied it.

PMNews gathered that the late Adedibu had battled the ailment that finally killed him for sometime now. Before his death, the late Adedibu was said to have vowed to ensure Senator Kamoru Adedibu, his son, becomes the next governor of Oyo State.
