Default Re: Council Of State, Electoral Reform And Ohakim

Like the Ohakim story more is yet to be heard about the Uwais Electoral Reforms Report.

For now the time has come for the members of the National Assembly to demonstrate that they bear the voices of Nigerians and that what we have is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

The Members of the NASS have to demonstrate the simple fact that for there to be true and credible elections in Nigeria devoid of chaos, the umpire who heads the Electoral Commission must be seen and appreciated by the members of the other political parties outside the PDP to be neutral and independent of any politician in the land. That is why the Uwais Electoral Reforms Commission opted for the more neutral Judicial panel to initiate the process of nominating the Electoral Commission chairman.

On Governor Ohakim, now that he is having some respite from litigations, we expect him to lay less emphasis on elitist projects like floating an airline, building bogus dual carriage ways that may emerge underutilised, etc. The Owerri water supply scheme is not rendering optimal services, people in Orlu still remain without running water at all, the government owes them the regional water scheme earmarked for the area, the Imo state university's engineering faculty is yet to take off. These are life-saving and popular development projects that need his immediate attention.
