The former PDP-led government in the state could not be blackmailed into this travesty of the constitution. Immagine the state governor devoting his time and the state's resources overseeing to the refuse disposal needs of all the 27 loocal government areas in the state.
Issue is that events leading to Ohakim's enthronment to the governorship position in Imo state had him constrained to struggle to gain the confidence of a section of the jetsams and floatsams in the state capital at the detriment of the vast majority of the population of the state. This is how Imo people paid dearly for the prolonged legal tussles.
We must stop this policy of one-city-state in Imo state where other areas outside the state capital remain glorified villages more than 32 years after the creation of Imo state.
Nezie;
Whatever you and the other chap have against Ohakin has nothing to do with me. I just posted an observation which was un-Godly going by the saying "cleanliness is next to Godliness" If I visit your house and the lounge/sitting room is full of toxic filth, no matter how high your profile or how rich your are, my impression of you would be disdainful.
If you cannot showcase a functional, beautiful State Capital to both the indigenes and foreigners, you have already failed as a government because the Capital of any State or Country provides a microcosmic analysis of the State/Country.
Why is everyone praising the Governor of Lagos State? Is it because every part of Lagos State is developed? Absolutely not! Because he identified the Ikeja-Lagos Island areas as the mirror of the State and is doing everything possible to clean it up!
Finally, the biggest question, which was the kernel of my initial post, is, how long has he been Governor of Imo State (court cases and all) and compared with his predecessors minus late Chief S. Mbakwe , would you in all honestly say Ohakim has not done better?
But, it is your State, whatever your opinion, I respect it.
