Don't let them fool you. WIC is a USA based organisation without any affiliate organisations in Igboland. It is a tool which jobless diaspora based Igbos use to get near the seat of power.
Can someone explain to me the purpose of the circus? Are these aspirants on sightseeing or chasing donations, otherwise, what is the point, when their audience can't vote? Are these aspirants expecting their Nigerian audience - more like a bunch of people on a day-out, to call their villages afterwards and commandeer the whole village to vote for them? Why are they not in the villages themselves chasing votes - selling their policies to the people that matters, kissing babies, shaking hands, receiving abuse and heckles and rotten food thrown at them, and even dodging bullets etc.?
Another good question. Just like every other circus, the purpose is solely for its entertainment value. I am disappointed that Utomi's advisers allowed him to make the mistake of attending this Jamboree as it has absolutely no clout in influencing the thinking in Igboland.
