| Re: FIFA U - 20 World Cup Egypt 2009 Nigeria vs Venezuela has not started on a good note for Nigeria. Haruna was red - carded ion the 40th minute, and Venezuela scored in the dying minutes of the first half. How will the boys respond in the second half, with one man short and a goal down? Let's hope they do better. __________________ 1. 'A dog is not considered a good dog because he is a good barker. A man is not considered a good man because he is a good talker'. (Buddha) 2. Nigeria don lose the first half one nil.
No thanks to the Italian Referee that sent off our captain for nothing at all, and then kept giving questionable calls.
Nigeria ended first half with 2 yellow, One Red and one goal deficit.
Pray for a better second half, so we no go carry basket full of goals away from here.

| Re: FIFA U - 20 World Cup Egypt 2009 Well, it looks like Nigeria is going to start off with a loss, and so the tradition goes on where we always lose to South American teams in this competition. Still there's two more matches to negotiate, so hopefully we do better in those matches. __________________ 1. 'A dog is not considered a good dog because he is a good barker. Coaching kids is not the same as coaching established players. Leave Amodu out of this, please.

The difference is clear. However, i have no doubt that Siasia is one for the future. He didn't get the Super Eagles job because some people in their wisdom thought he wasn't ready. __________________ 1. 'A dog is not considered a good dog because he is a good barker. | Re: FIFA U - 20 World Cup Egypt 2009 Effectively, our Flying Eagles are homebound after losing their second match in the on going U 20 fifa world cup. Forget this much touted believe that if nigeria beats Tahiti by a huge goal margin they still have achance of sneaking through to the last 16 via the best 4 LOSERS. What happens afters that? They will simply be overrun by the better perdforming opponents. Then again, Nigeria may yet perform wonders in this tournament. Anyone remember Atlanta 1996? I suppose all we can do is wait and see, and also pray for the Flying Eagles. __________________ 1. 'A dog is not considered a good dog because he is a good barker. One thing that truly unites Nigeria is football. Yet our govt. and NFA have allowed it to go downhill in the past years. Pitiable.
Siasia or Amodu, the problem will still remain until we begin to address talent development properly.

Siasia or Amodu, the problem will still remain until we begin to address talent development properly. Oga Odinaka, let it be known to you that we have never ever developed any talent in the anals of Nigerian football history. Those talents that we have usuped in the past had emerged by individual enterprise. We can only lay claim to developing talents if Nigerian administrators had invested time, energy and money towards their development. many of the stars we had been fortunate to represent us at any level of football had one way or the other emerged either through playing and developing football skills on the streets, or through a private organisation called YOSFON (Youth Sports federation of Nigeria). For as long as we continue to operate and administer football in an amateurish manner, we will continue to fall by the way side when it really matters.
We have pseudo professional football teams, which don't have a youth league. how does that develop talent? Where do the so called footballers playing in our league come from? how much do these professional football teams desognate towards grassroots football? Our football is a joke in nigeria, sustained only by the God - given talents of those footballers, who get paid peanuts. __________________ 1. | Re: FIFA U - 20 World Cup Egypt 2009 Our Flying Eagles redeemed themsleves somewhat today, beating Tahiti by three goals. We now have to wait and see if that result is good enough to take them into the last 16 (Ridiculous isn't it?). Our Flying Eagle, waiting on others to see if they will progress in the tournament? Unbelievable. Anyhow, if that's how it's to be, fine. __________________ 1. 'A dog is not considered a good dog because he is a good barker. Sorry Omaks, you got it wrong. It was five unreplied goals. Scores at half time was 4 nil. Tahiti was reduced to 9 men also. South Africa, England and Cameroun are the other rated teams finding it difficult at the championships. Egypt and Ghana are already qualified.

I was watching the first half, and got distracted by baby omaks (just allow me find any excuse. ). I didn't get to watch the rest of the game afterwards, and as i was working last night i posted the results up to the time i watched it. I suppose i should have checked properly.
Anyhow, i hope that's enough to see us through the next stage, which isn't the important issue. The important issue really is that, our performance has to improve vastly, if we get a 'second bite of the cherry'. The teams in the last 16 will hardly be push overs like Tahiti. __________________ 1. 'A dog is not considered a good dog because he is a good barker. | Re: FIFA U - 20 World Cup Egypt 2009 Having played haplessly in the current Egypt 2009 U - 20 World cup, Nigerians hoped and prayed for a miracle . Now the miracle has been delivered by Baba God. Nigeria are through to the last 16. This is aided by their triumph in the match against Tahiti which they won 5 - 0. Results elsewhere between England and Uzbekistan, where both drew 1 -1 and does eliminated, meant that our Flying Eagles (or should we say Crawling Eagles) finished as one of the best third placed teams at the group stages. __________________ 1.
