My dear sisters it is said that "One does not eat crab with shame." And again, "The man with long, protruding teeth may be dying but others think he's smiling." I covet your understanding and candid suggestions. Here is the issue for which I seek your womanly wisdom: What should a non Nigerian, African guy do to woo a Nigerian lady as well as to win the approval of her family to give their daughter’s hand in marriage to this “stranger”? Are there “cultural-specific” considerations which must be accommodated? My question is two-pronged because wooing the lady is one thing; but getting the approval of the family to marry their daughter is, in my opinion the greatest hurdle. As an African myself, I am acutely aware of the ethnocentric tendencies of African peoples. I need your suggestions: please be candid, blunt, direct, frank, but fair and in your responses. Thanks in advance for your candid suggestions!!
