Just wanted to let you know that this does not stop us from getting married as planned. I am also a career woman...very allergic to staying home for more than 2 days a week. But with God....all things are possible.

It is a personal choice every woman has to make, if it makes her happy, then why not? Mind you staying at home to look after your family is not doing nothing o. It is a full time job or career on its own from what I have seen of those who are full time house wives o.

Honestly, I rather my man is capable of being the sole provider without me having to be in this rat race world trying to make a career lol.

Me I like to be a "lady of leisure"

fully occupied with taking care of my family and enjoying my marriage life than slugging it out in one job in the name of making a career jare.

Let me I support and make the home front enjoyable for him to come to while he concentrate on making enough to take care of us.

However, the reality of today's world is that most families cannot afford a stay at home mum and wife. Majority of women work long hours because their families truly need the additional income. So it depend on your circumstances I suppose.

Let me dream for a minute that I am a stay at home wife with an unlimited expense account

You see that stay at home thing..........Kai, I will love it OOooooo

First of all, I wake up when I want. then call my friends, to yarn about what we are going to do that day.
I'll take a long leisurely bath, then I get dressed and head to the gym....take as much time as I wish, working out....how fun. Then I come home, have a quick shower to get rid of all that sweat.
Meet any available friend for coffee... or go do lunch with those at work during lunch break( by the way I don't drink coffee)
Then call the cleaner to make sure she remembered to clean the oven.
Head home by around 4pm.......
Oh did I mention that I popped into Dana Buckman to pick up a to die for gear.

Hopefully He will pick up some rotiserie(sp) chicken on his way home, since I had something to eat already, and really can't be arsed to cook and all that jazz.

Ya know summin' This life will totally suit me.
Only problem is, My spending will be open to scrutiny....I 'impulse buy' a lot,
And spending another persons money, means they get to know what I am up to.

not ready for that.

Why Did I not have Parents who were cool enough

and rich enough, to leave me a trust fund, instead being near church rats. I will have to get THERAPY, because that is betrayal of offspring trust.

You got it sis and you've taken it into a different realm but hey who no like the good life. Lets dream on jare.
But me I will like to be in charge of my home in every sense of the word the cooking (home cooking no takeaways), keeping it, myself and my kids beautiful, challenged, entertained, doing school rounds as well as being able to devote time to certain interest and causes I am passionate about l. Yep that will be me in my element my dear.

i think there's nothing wrong in having a career wife. i have serveral good examples of career wives (friends) who are humble to their husbands despite their postion in the society. I feel its an ego thing in our men that makes them feel insecure. especially our bini people

Peterosa, I know many non-career wives who have disrespected their husbands too. They did not 'lower' themselves or any flag to them either. It really does not matter if the woman is a career woman or not. What matters is that there is mutual respect, love and commitment from both the man and the woman to make the marriage work.

Pre-empting insecurities prior to the marriage that has not taken place is not a healthy way to analyze this matter. Many stay home wives are not better than career ones......it is just a matter of individuality. You may choose to have what you want....but it does not mean the woman in question will go along with your wishes down the road. It should be a woman's choice if she wants a career or not. If she agrees with you fine.....if not, her wishes should be respected too....since you have your own career. What if she stated she did not want a "career man" too a husband? Both of you will sit down and pick your nostrils for food and shelter right?
