The Times of Nigeria can confirm beyond reasonable doubt that Governor Umar Musa Yar’Adua is well and alive and his medical condition was exaggerated by the media including ours. We Spoke with him in Germany. In a brief interview with Yar’Adua in a Germam hospital, he told Sunny Ofili, editor and Publisher of The Times of Nigeria a few minutes ago that “I am feeling better. It was a precautionary decision. The doctors here have found out that I am fine. I would have returned tomorrow but for a little cold that I have.” Yar’Adua continued “I am still in the race and will be back probably by the weekend to continue my campaign.” “I had a profile but no serious condition was discovered. It was a false alarm.” He said. The Presidential candidate though spoke in his characteristic soft tone, he sounded strong over the phone. “Tell Nigerians that I am doing well. It was a situation where I did not have enough time to rest. All I needed was some rest.” He concluded. |

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor of Katsina state is critically ill and has been evacuated to Germany for medical attention. The news was first reported a few hours ago by Elendureports.com. The Times of Nigeria can now confirm the report. A high ranking government official in Abuja confirmed this development to The Times of Nigeria few minutes ago. Another government source told The Times of Nigeria that the Presidential aspirant “collapsed a few hours ago and has been flown abroad for treatment.” The source said it is “very likely he was flown to Germany.” The Presidency and inner caucus of the ruling party are said to be in an emergency meeting on how to handle the situation. | |

Additional reports beloow indicated that he may have suffered multiple organ failure..bad news, I wish him well, he is a gentleman indeed.
---------------------------------------------------------- Yar'ardua Collapses...flown out Written by Jonathan Elendu Tuesday, 06 March 2007 The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Gov. Umar Musa Yarardua, is critically ill. Yarardua who was supposed to be at the presidential campaign rally in Lagos today could not make it. Instead, his running mate, Gov. Jonathan Goodluck of Bayelsa State had the rare opportunity of speaking on his behalf. According to sources who spoke to Elendureports.com, the Katsina State Governor may have been overwhelmed by the hectic schedule of the presidential campaign. Our investigations indicate that Musa Yarardua who is with his personal doctor may have been flown out tonight for treatment overseas. Elendureports.com was reliably informed that Gov. Yarardua may have suffered multiple organ failure this morning. He was quickly rushed to a clinic managed by one of the multinational corporations in Abuja. Later this evening an air ambulance arrived from overseas. It will be recalled that Elendureports.com had exclusively reported on the various health problems of Gov. Umar Musa Yarardua last year. The President and his Party made efforts to pooh-pooh the story.
I smell rat!
Is this not part of the elongation plot? We should remain vigilant1
In politics, perception is everything. This amputates Yar'Adua's chances. The man is a dull, dark horse. His running mate is even duller and darker. The thought of Nigeria landing into wrong hands by commission and default leaves my stomach in knots. Noetheless, I wish him a speedy and full recovery.
What are you saying that dark people are dull and dull people dark...explain yourself immediately...
Some people are getting excited because YarAdua is from the ruling party. If the candidate had been from one of the unknown parties, would the idea of not having an election in April arise? You for care?
If YarAdua is not fit to run for Presidency in April, doesnt it just mean that PDP will not be fielding any presidential candidate for the next election? Yes, there will most likely be unrest in the state. INEC shouldnt replace any candidate after their registration deadline, unless theres a caveat Im not aware of. It should not have anything to do with OBJ extending his stay, that will be unconstitutional. But then again, this is Nigeria. YarAdua, pls get well soon..
IBB ko, NPP ni.. nonsense.. IF Yar Auda dies and they do not make it Goodluck to replace him.. Goodluck will replace him. you see that man name na trouble.. if they pick someone and not Goodluck the person self go fall sick and die... TRUST ME. there is something about this man Goodluck....??? I have tried to understand that man.. If they use me to replace Yar adua, I go refuse... It made me remember this story of a man who they denied is right in one of the govt office.. and they replace 3 people and one after the other them all die.. the last man refuse to accept the position and end up give the position to the rightful person.. If anything happen to yar adua and they do not give it to Goodluck or Obasanjo.. my brother them go continue to die... If you think say na joke... Let us contribute money for IBB gravelyard..
Hi Villagers,
The news is not surprising at all. Seeing Yar'Adua in a recent campaign photograph I had thought to myself that this man is being 'helped' by OBJ to commit political suicide. Obasanjo knows that this man from Katsina is a terribly sick man with internal organ problems yet he persuaded him against his wish to vie for the presidency. What is therefore happening is a script being played out by OBJ and his cabal: they foisted Yar'Adua so that in the end another agenda will be brought in the eleventh hour through the back door! Vigilance must therefore be the watchword. Our watchword lest the Aso Rock fox plays a fast one on our collective intelligence.
Obasanjo from all indications lacks good judgement. If Umaru hasn't even mounted the saddle and he has started falling sick and going for treatment, how will he manage a huge and problematic country when he becomes president without being sent to the great beyond?
It is apparent these folks do not understand the demand of the office. Obviously, that wasn't factored into the equation when they chose a presidential candidate. At this rate, PDP might be forced to draft IBB , Marwa or Gusau into the race. I will see how events unfold in the coming weeks. Nigeria we hail thee!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nigeria candidate to go abroad for medical treatment 06 Mar 2007 21:10:51 GMT Source: Reuters Alert Me | Printable view | Email this article | RSS [-] Text [+] LAGOS, March 6 (Reuters) - Umaru Yar'Adua, presidential candidate of Nigeria's ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP), will travel abroad for "a routine medical process", the PDP said on Tuesday. The party said Yar'Adua, who has suffered from a kidney complaint in the past, was taking time off from the campaign but would return "early". The presidential election is scheduled for April 21.
This man, Yar'Adua, may just be an innocent man that was USED and is about to be dumped. I feel sorry for him because , if we are to believe what was broadcast in the past, running for Presidency was NOT his idea. His "Baba" selected him.
May God spare his life! |
